My Story
I didn't set out to build a brand. I was just trying to save my hair.

I didn't start Afsennah because I wanted to build a brand, I started it because I was genuinely struggling and nothing I tried was giving me real results.
From a young age, I was dealing with multiple hair and scalp conditions, including androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, and scalp eczema, which made everything feel complicated and honestly overwhelming, especially at a time where you're still trying to feel confident in yourself. It wasn't just about my hair, it affected how I showed up and how I saw myself.
It also runs in my family. My three brothers experience hair loss too, although luckily not as severe, and to be honest, for men it's often easier to cover or accept, while as a woman it feels much more visible and harder to ignore.
Like most people, I looked for help. I went to doctors, and the answer I kept getting was simple: use minoxidil. But even back then, something didn't sit right with me. I knew I didn't want to depend on something long-term without understanding what it would do to my body, especially as a woman, so instead of blindly following that advice, I chose to dig deeper and do my own research.
And that's where everything started to shift.
I began questioning what I was actually treating, because everything I had been given was focused on my hair, while the real issue was my scalp. Around that time, I kept thinking about what my mom always used to say. She truly believed that for every disease there is a natural remedy, and she would always remind me that what works for her might not work for me, because our skin and hair are different. That made so much sense to me, and it completely changed how I started looking at hair care.
With that mindset, I started studying ingredients, understanding the scalp, and experimenting with natural oils and herbs.
What started as curiosity turned into months of research, testing, and refining, and slowly but surely I started seeing real changes. My scalp became calmer, the irritation reduced, the shedding slowed down, and my hair started growing back stronger and healthier.
When people around me noticed the difference, they started asking what I was using, so I shared it with them. Around COVID, I also started posting more about my hair journey online, just sharing what I was learning and what was working for me, and unexpectedly it started to grow really fast. More and more people were asking questions, sharing their own struggles, and looking for real answers.
That's when I realized that if people are actively asking for help, and I've spent all this time learning and figuring things out, then I have a responsibility to share that knowledge and genuinely help them.
But at the same time, not everyone got the same results, and that's when it truly clicked for me: there is no one product that works for everyone, because every scalp, every cause, and every body is different.
That realization is what pushed me to take this seriously, which is why I studied hair and scalp science professionally and became a Certified Trichologist, continuing to deepen my knowledge so I could understand the root causes behind hair loss, not just the symptoms.
And through all of this, one thing became very clear to me.
I'm not interested in trends.
I'm not interested in quick fixes.
And I don't believe you need to rely on something like minoxidil to regrow your hair.
That's something almost no one tells you.
Personally, I don't recommend it, because I believe your body already has everything it needs when you support it the right way. Nature is powerful, and when you understand how to work with your scalp instead of against it, real, long-term results become possible.
That belief is exactly how Afsennah was built, not as a one-size-fits-all brand, but as a system of customized solutions designed around your scalp, your hair, and your specific situation.
What started as something deeply personal grew into something much bigger, because I realized how many women were going through the same thing and simply didn't have the right guidance.
And that's why everything I do still comes back to the same foundation:
What works for you won't always work for someone else, because every scalp and hair type is different, so getting real results comes down to using the right ingredients for your specific needs.
Start your hair journey with Afsennah, and the only promise I can make is that I will always try my best to help you achieve your hair goals.
