Understand Your Scalp Needs

Normal / Balanced Scalp
A normal scalp has healthy oil production, no visible flakes, no tightness or itchiness, and stays clean and fresh for a few days after washing. It’s the ideal balance between oil and hydration, no excess buildup or dryness.
Dry Scalp
A dry scalp lacks moisture and can feel tight, itchy, or uncomfortable. You might notice small, white flakes (not greasy or yellowish like dandruff). This often gets worse in cold or dry weather and needs hydration-focused care.
Oily Scalp
An oily scalp produces excess sebum (natural oils), often feeling greasy just a day or two after washing. It can lead to limp hair, clogged pores, or buildup on the scalp. You may need more frequent washing and balancing treatments.
Dandruff / Flaky Scalp
Dandruff shows up as white or yellow flakes and is often caused by an overgrowth of yeast (malassezia), oily buildup, or irritation. It can be itchy and embarrassing but is very treatable with the right soothing and rebalancing ingredients.
Psoriasis
Psoriasis on the scalp appears as thick, silvery scales and red patches. It’s an autoimmune condition where skin cells grow too fast. It can be itchy, painful, or cause temporary hair shedding. This requires calming, anti-inflammatory care.
Scalp Eczema
Scalp eczema leads to dry, red, itchy, and inflamed skin, sometimes with cracked patches or flaking. It’s often linked to allergies, stress, or skin barrier issues. Requires deep hydration and barrier-repairing ingredients.
Folliculitis
Folliculitis is the inflammation of hair follicles, causing red bumps, soreness, or even pus-filled spots. Often mistaken for acne or ingrown hairs. It can result from bacteria, yeast, or clogged follicles. Needs purifying and anti-inflammatory treatment.
Seborrheic Dermatitis
A chronic condition causing greasy, yellow flakes, redness, and itching, commonly in the scalp, eyebrows, or behind the ears. It’s linked to an overgrowth of yeast. Needs balancing and antifungal ingredients to control symptoms.
Lichen Planopilaris
A rare, inflammatory scalp condition where the immune system attacks hair follicles. It causes redness, itching, irritation, and permanent hair loss if not treated. Requires ultra-gentle, calming formulas and dermatologist supervision.
